TapNote AI Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

TapNote AI is an iOS app for saving screenshot notes, organizing them locally, searching them with OCR, and optionally generating AI insight cards from selected notes.

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

TapNote AI stores the following information locally on your device so the app can work:

• screenshots or images you add to the app;
• notes you write;
• OCR text recognized from your screenshots;
• tags, timestamps, source signals, colors, and other organization metadata;
• local app settings and purchase entitlement state.

This local data is not sent to us by default.

3. Optional AI Insight Generation

AI insight generation is optional. If you choose to generate an AI insight card, TapNote AI sends the selected screenshot, your note, OCR text, tags, timestamp, source signal, and related metadata to a configured AI service so the requested insight can be created.

You can use regular screenshot saving, local OCR, browsing, and search without generating AI insights. Those local features stay on your device unless you actively request AI insight generation.

4. Photo Library Access

If you grant photo library access, TapNote AI uses it so you can import screenshots or images that you choose. TapNote AI does not scan or upload your full photo library.

5. Purchases and Subscriptions

TapNote Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment, renewal, cancellation, tax, and billing information. TapNote AI receives purchase entitlement information from Apple so the app can unlock Pro features. We do not receive your full payment card details.

6. Accounts

TapNote AI currently does not require you to create a TapNote account. We do not collect an email address, phone number, username, or password for an app account unless a future version adds an account feature and this policy is updated.

7. Advertising and Tracking

TapNote AI does not display third-party advertising and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

8. Analytics and Diagnostics

TapNote AI does not currently include third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. If we add analytics, diagnostics, cloud sync, account features, or other services in the future, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information before release.

9. How We Use Information

We use information only to provide app functionality, including local organization, search, OCR, optional AI insight generation, purchase entitlement handling, troubleshooting, and user support.

10. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal data. Information may be processed by service providers only when needed to provide features you request, such as Apple In-App Purchase or optional AI insight generation.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Local screenshot notes remain on your device until you delete them in the app or remove the app from your device. AI requests are processed by the configured AI service according to that service's processing and retention practices. You can avoid sending note content to an AI service by not using AI insight generation.

12. Children's Privacy

TapNote AI is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us so we can review the request.

13. International Processing

If you use optional AI insight generation or Apple In-App Purchase, your information may be processed in countries or regions other than where you live, subject to the practices of the relevant service provider.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when TapNote AI changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the revised policy at this URL.
